What We Do

A few words about

What We Do

Our projects

Faith in action — transforming lives through compassion, education, and empowerment.

At Ogwetta Foundation, we are committed to uplifting lives and restoring hope in Lamwo District, Northern Uganda.
Our work is guided by the values of faith, compassion, and inclusivity, and inspired by the legacy of Ogwetta Nakanori, whose life of service continues to shine through our community programs.

We believe lasting change begins when people are empowered spiritually, socially, and economically.
That’s why our initiatives focus on six key areas designed to build stronger, healthier, and more self-reliant communities.

Supporting Religious Formation

Faith is at the center of all that we do. We support individuals who feel called to serve God through religious vocations — including seminarians, nuns, catechists, and reverends.

Through mentorship, spiritual guidance, and financial support, we help shape leaders who will continue to inspire and guide communities in faith and moral values.

Child Rights & Education

Every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and dream.
We champion children’s rights and education by offering sponsorships, scholastic materials, and advocacy programs that protect and empower vulnerable children.

Health & Wellbeing

Access to healthcare is essential for human dignity.
Ogwetta Foundation works to improve the health and wellbeing of families by bringing medical services closer to communities and promoting preventive health practices.

Cultural Heritage Preservation

Culture is the heartbeat of a community. Through our cultural preservation initiatives, we celebrate and protect Acholi heritage (“Tekwaro me Acholi”), ensuring that our traditions continue to inspire unity, pride, and belonging.

Youth Economic Empowerment

Young people are the future of Lamwo District and their potential is limitless.
We equip them with practical skills, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship training to help them become self-reliant and active contributors to society.

Sports for Development

Sports play a powerful role in shaping discipline, teamwork, and community spirit.
Ogwetta Foundation promotes sports  particularly among youth  as a platform for mentorship, inclusion, and personal growth.
